Lessons From A Hackathon
My very first hackathon was at NFT NYC 2023.
As a writer and musician (predominantly) the premise has always seemed somewhat distant and exclusionary. The hacker connotation one of deep domain expertise in the realms of coding and software development.
However the “Games Jam” organised by HER DAO did an amazing job of setting the stage for a diverse group — in skills, age, ethnicities and interests — to congregate, seeking to collaborate problem solving using web3 tools.
A hackathon is an event where individuals or teams come together to intensively experiment; solve problems; or create innovative projects within a set timeframe. It involves programmers, designers, and other professionals or creatives with diverse skills and expertise.
